Moran Prairie is an elementary school (K-6) in the Spokane Public Schools. Our building was constructed in 1990 and houses just over 500 students. We are located in the southeast region of Spokane, Washington.
Moran Prairies' specialists offer rich programs throughout the school year. Each student participates in Health & Fitness, Music, and Library Media on a weekly basis. For one hour every other week students in grades 4-6 also participate in an engaging Art curriculum.
Technology is an important part of our school and the education of our students. We have a Novell networking system connecting over 150 computers throughout the building. Most of our staff have school e-mail addresses for patron contact and communication.
Moran Prairie offers many special opportunities for community involvement. These include:
- before and after school Express Program
- academic support and enrichment classes
- Math is Cool, Math and Arts Clubs
- homework support
Our school is also a "Partner in Education" with Office Depot. This partnership promotes work-to-school transitional experiences, as well as support to our school.
Moran Prairie parents and patrons are a very active and integral part of the educational process. The Parent/Teacher Group (PTG) enhances the school through fundraising, family events and enrichment programs. The Moran Prairie Site Council benefits the school be serving as an advisory board to the principal. |
