WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
Why not volunteer in our library?
Volunteers are needed for many activities.
Library Parents - See what your child learns in the library and help at the same time. Library parents accompany their child's class to the library. They check in their books, shelves books while I instruct, assists me with students when needed, helps students find books, and check out books to the class.
Assist with library projects - If you don't want to commit to a certain time each week but want to make our library a great place to learn, you may want to help on an occasional basis with projects. We need help adding genre stickers to book spines so students can easily find books in their favorite genre. We're also adding award winning books to aid students in book selection. Another ongoing big job is to "weed" the library of outdated books so students aren't checking out books with misinformation in them. In addition, we need parents who are willing to process new book purchases.
Book Fair - We are always in need of volunteers at our two book fairs each year. If you are interested in doing this, you can contact me or our book fair co-chairs, Sheri Kantner or Therese Johnston.
I am willing to train anyone interested in volunteering in the library. Please let me know if you are interested or let your child's classroom teacher know if you are willing to be a Library Parent for that classroom.
We have a great time in the library and your time and effort is truly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact me at barbarast@spokaneschools.com or 354-3659.
Thank you for making a difference!
