2008/2009

Hello,

My name is Denny Abel. I would like to welcome you to Madison Elementary and the 2008/2009 school year! The first day of school this year is Tuesday, September 2.

I have been teaching for 28 years, 24 of those with District #81. This is my ninth year at Madison. I taught 4 years in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, 6 years at Regal Elementary in District #81, and 10 years at Sheridan Elementary in District #81. I have taught first grade for two years, second grade for eight years, third grade for 10 years, fourth grade for six years, and a multi-age 3/4 classroom for two years! I have genuinely enjoyed teaching at each level.

My philosophy for teaching is, "I believe every student in my classroom can learn!" I believe the classroom atmosphere is like a family. Each student will do their best to respect each other, the school, and the teacher. Because of this, learning will be beneficial and enjoyable. I adhere to a discipline plan that allows every student in my classroom the opportunity to learn.

If your child attended Madison, she/he was given a list of the supplies needed for my classroom when they received their classroom confirmation letter. If you are new you received the supply list when you enrolled at Madison. The supply list can be found on my class home page, as well as the school home page. Please do your best to provide these supplies.

If you need to give your child a message or have an emergency, please do not call the class phone, because I may not be able to contact you right away. Please call the office at 354-3600 and they will contact me regarding the message or emergency!!

If your child has any food related allergies please note that on the signature page of the discipline form which will be sent home the first day of school.
