All School Activities
Logan Elementary is proud to support many special programs aimed at improving our students’ school experiences. In addition to extracurricular activities, children can join Math is Cool, School Patrol, Science Fair, Campus Kids, and ASB. Fifth and sixth graders can also sign up for band or strings. Students and their families may participate in many family events such as Soup and Story, Math Night, Family Fun nights, and Penny Carnival. Information about these activities and many more will come home with your student, but if you need more details please call 354-3434.
Additional special programs housed at our school include:
CAPE
CAPE is a joint program of Spokane County Head Start and Spokane Public Schools, which provides services for children with special needs. Children who have special needs and who meet state eligibility requirements are "dually enrolled" in Spokane Public Schools and Head Start. These children receive appropriate therapies within the preschool classroom. All participating children and families participate in a variety of services, including education, nutrition, health and social services.
Special Programs
Logan also houses one classroom for developmentally impaired preschool students, two classrooms for behaviorally impaired students, and a learning Support Center where students who qualify for services can be scheduled for intensive help with particular learning difficulties.
Title 1
Title 1 is a federally funded program which provides assistance to low income schools. Logan's Title 1 program is designed as a schoolwide model. This means that our school uses allocated funds to upgrade the school's entire educational program rather than to target services only for identified children.
EXPRESS
The Express program is a before and after school childcare program operated at Logan by school district employees. Registration forms may be obtained at the school office. In addition to regular Express, Logan operates half day Kindergarten Express. Express hours of operation are 6:30 AM - 8:50 AM and 3:00PM - 6:00PM.
