School Volunteer Program

Volunteer parents are an important part of any successful school. Volunteers strengthen our school program by:

  • Providing more individual help for each child.
  • Giving the teacher more time to teach by giving classroom assistance.
  • Enriching the curriculum through use of community resources.
  • Providing a communication link between the school and the community.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Linwood or would like more information about the school volunteer program, please call the school.

After-School Programs

After-school programs are encouraged for all upper-grade children and should offer additional opportunities for development of physical skills as well as character building. Emphasis is not on winning games, but rather on enjoyment and good sportsmanship.

After-school enrichment and academic activities are generally held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Activity busses are provided for those children who would normally ride the bus.

Experience has shown that occasionally pupils indicate to their parents that they are involved in after-school activities, when in reality they are not. We encourage parents to check the after-school activity schedule to avoid those possibilities. Due to weather conditions, an activity may be cancelled.
