Extracurricular Activities

During the school year students at Lincoln Heights will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities including cross country, basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, drama, technology club, and track. Activities will be available to a variety of grade levels and will take place both before and after school. Information on each activity is sent home throughout the year.

The extracurricular program at Lincoln Heights provides a chance for students to put into practice a variety of skills they learn in class, as well as learning the value of teamwork and cooperation. We also believe that students need to complete homework and act responsibly in order to participate in these activities. Therefore a student contract will be required for all activities. Students who consistently do not complete school work or who exhibit poor behavior will not participate in extracurricular activities.

Parent permission is required to participate in these activities. Coaches will send permission forms home for parent/guardian signatures. A student contract will also need to be signed by the student’s homeroom teacher indicating that daily student work and student behavior is acceptable.

Transportation for after school activities will be provided for bus students only. An activity bus will be leaving Lincoln Heights at 4:15 each night to deliver those students to their bus stop.

Due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, illnesses, transportation or other situations, activities may be cancelled. If activities are cancelled, students are asked to notify parents/guardians so arrangements can be made for after school supervision. Please make sure all student emergency information is up to date in the event of a cancellation or injury requiring treatment and family member notification.
