A Note from the Principal

September 2007

Dear Indian Trail Families,

Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year!  I am excited to be the new principal at this amazing school.  After a busy summer full of excitement and anticipation, I am eager to begin collaborating with staff, students, parents, and community members, and I look forward to building strong relationships with all Indian Trail’s children and their families.  Our staff hopes that your child’s school experience will be happy, productive, and full of engaging and rigorous learning experiences.  We believe that all children can achieve at high levels and they deserve our very best efforts on a daily basis.  Our staff, however, can’t accomplish this task alone.  We will need your help and support throughout your child’s educational journey.  Together, our high expectations will help every Indian Trail child reach his/her full potential as a student and developing young community member.

Your child’s school success is highly dependent upon the relationship that exists between parent, teacher, and child.  On-going collaboration between the home and school is essential to both your child’s academic and social success.  We invite you to become involved at our school, so together we can demonstrate to your child the value and importance of a successful school life.  Research indicates that when parents and the school successfully work together, children are more successful and their love of learning increases!  There are many avenues for parents and community members to get involved at our school.  We’d love to have you volunteer in our classrooms or help at one of our many school functions throughout the school year.  Stop in any time to find out more about how we can work together this year!

The information on our website is intended to be of assistance to you and your child, and it should help clarify several aspects of our school.  You will find information about school programs, schedules, procedures, and policies of Indian Trail Elementary.  Should you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please feel free to call 354-3100, or stop by at any time.  Our door is always open and we welcome your participation and feedback.  We look forward to being partners in your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Paul Gannon
Principal
