Paws is a group of 40 students who are role models in all areas of our school. They are visible and identifiable by all staff and students. These students are divided into 5 groups of 8 students each. Each group meets with it’s advisor as necessary. The entire PAWS club also meets once monthly.
The four groups are as follows:
- Playground: Schedule Playground Aides Peer Mediate Playground Disputes Teach Students Playground Games and Rules Help Organize and Run Field Day With P.E. Teacher
- Fundraising Help Office Staff Run “The Den” Store
Help with ASB fundraisers
Run the PAWS After School Candy Sale
Order Candy
Help Generate Incentives
- Assemblies Coordinate Assemblies with Principal
Set Up Chairs and Equipment
Practice Parts
Run Assembly
Hand Out Certificates/Awards
Clean Up Afterward
Run New Student Welcoming Committee
Order and Develop T-Shirts
- Community Liaison Service Projects Done Quarterly
Supply Information for School Newspaper
Maintain PAWS Calendars
Community Involvement – COPS NC, City Gate
Organize and Run Monthly School/Community Events
With the NET or SHAPeS Focus Team (ie: Talent Show,
Bingo Night, Celebrity Read-In, etc.)
