Backpack: Each child should have a backpack to bring to school every day--we prefer backpacks, because it is easiest for the children to carry, encouraging independence and responsibility. Inside, we would like you to have a complete change of clothes--shirt, pants, underwear and socks--in case of an accident. Also, we would like you to put in a notebook for us to write notes back and forth (we will tell you about your child's day at school and you can tell us information from home you would like to share with us.) The backpack helps us to make sure that papers and important information gets home; so please remember to check it daily. Although it is a temptation for little ones to fill their bags, we ask that children not bring toys or other items from home unless prior arrangements have been made.
Community School Supplies:
2 large boxes of Kleenex
10 large or 20 small glue sticks
1 box of washable markers
2 bottles of gel or school glue
1 bottle of liquid soap
(The community supplies are shared by all. This works well for the preschoolers, since learning to share and cooperate are learning objectives we focus on.)
If Your Child Wears Diapers:
1 box of diaper wipes
Diapers or pull-ups (either a daily supply or a bag labeled with your child's name and we'll let you know when they're almost gone!)
Optional Supplies:
glitter glue
headphones for working on the computer
colored pencils
