Balboa Elementary is proud to offer programs for students with many different needs and interests.

  • Twelve classrooms for general education
  • Four classrooms for Montessori education
  • Two classrooms for self-contained special education.

  • Speech/Language Therapy
  • Physical and Occupational Therapy
  • School Counselor 
  • Express (Before and After School Care)
  • Tessera (off-site program available to students identified as gifted)

Extra-curricular activities are also among the offerings at Balboa.

  • Intramural sports may include volleyball, basketball, soccer, flag football, Bloomsday training and jumprope.
  • Student clubs may include Math is Cool, ASB, and Safety Patrol.
  • Music opportunities include chorus and band and strings instruction for 5th and 6th grade students.

There are many other notable events and programs at Balboa.

  • The Volunteer Literacy program is an opportunity for parents and community to be paired with students to help build literacy skills.
  • Character Counts is a school-wide program aimed at building pillars of character within students, including respect, responsibility, caring, trustworthiness, fairness, and citizenship.
  • Fundraising and family events include a school carnival, Bingo Night, Book Fair and Santa Breakfast.  PTG facilitates most fundraisers.
