Dear Parents, Students and Community,
Welcome to Audubon Elementary School for the 2007-08 school year! It is with great pride and pleasure we welcome you.
Our school year promises to be exciting, rewarding, and successful with lots of learning taking place.
We (the staff at Audubon) are looking forward to working with you in the education process of your child. Audubon will be stressing a number of areas that will help us maintain a positive learning environment, as well as a safe place for all.
You are welcome to take part in school activities. Volunteer as an aide, visit the classroom, go to school functions, support fund raising activities through the P.T.O., help with before and after school programs such as road runners, intramural activities, or join one of the major committee structures established. Your membership on any of our committees is always welcomed. They include: Early Childhood Development, Equity, Discipline, Technology, Extended and Enrichment Time, Parent / Community Involvement, and Instructional / Assessment Committees.
If you are interested, please contact the office at 354-2140 and we will coordinate your involvement with the committee of your interest.
You are encouraged to read with your child at home each night, spend time helping them with spelling words, or do math problem solving together. By setting aside a quiet time for 15 minutes each night, you become involved. Choose a family activity, involve all children and make learning one item a day a goal for everyone. A big part of family involvement is just being available for your child to discuss their days events. Building rapport and relationships with students, teachers and other staff members builds students' self-esteem, and confidence.
Audubon is truly blessed in many ways. Working together will bring joy in learning and satisfaction in knowing you child is receiving the best education possible.
Thank you for your time and efforts. Audubon is a "Distinguished Title One School."
